Hi, everybody. Some of you may recall my threads recently, asking for comparisons between the 100L Macro and the Canon 85mm f/1.8. I had just about made up my mind on the 100L Macro, but now have come across many images taken with extension tubes and, most commonly, 50mm lenses. I had greatly underestimated the capability of an extension tube!

The above is an example photo shot with the setup pictured earlier: Canon EF 40mm f/2.8 STM stacked on the Canon EF 25 II extension tube attached the the Canon EOS M using the EF-EOS M adapter. The above photo is a minor crop.

1. As I recall, it's the 25 mm tube that I use with the 55-250 lens. It works well for closer focusing. The lens manual has the documentation that one needs to decide which tube to use. ThrillaMozilla's gear list: Canon EOS Rebel SL1 Canon EOS M6 II Canon EF 400mm f/5.6L USM.
Extension tubes transform any lens into a macro lens. Canon EF 135mm f/2L lens with stacked Canon EF 12mm and Canon EF 25mm extension tubes. Together, these tubes are 37mm which gives me a 37/
The difference between them being the lens as indicated in the image captions. Two were made using the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro lens and two with the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM lens with a 20mm extension tube.
